Home Studios

From 2018-2020, I worked as Studio Manager at Home Studios, an interior design studio in Brooklyn, NY. Highlights of my design work included redesigning the studio website, business cards, and pitch decks.

Desktop & Mobile Website

The owner of Home Studios was heavily inspired by Martin Margiela’s Paris fashion studio in the design of the website. The iconic studio is all-white, with black lettering and notations on binders, folders, hangers, and clothing mockups. Inspired by this, I designed a website that was echoed this – minimal navigation, striking sans serif text, and ample padding, giving space to draw the users’ eyes to what the website is all about: the projects. In this way, the website served more as a portfolio, giving attention to the work itself.

The mobile version of the website supports this idea more directly, with the homepage showing a cascading series of images showcasing the interior design projects.

Pitch Decks

As a smaller design studio, we frequently received RFPs (request for proposals) from clients looking to work with us. The Pitch Deck as an item became an important communication tool in our arsenal to showcase our work and introduce the client to the studio. Following the aesthetic of the studio website, the proposals were largely minimal – white backgrounds, clean margins, and richly detailed photos showcasing our design work. We incorporated spotlight pages detailing custom items (light fixtures, banquettes, tables, etc.) for each project – from metal finishes, to wood type, to moulding profile – an idea I suggested to breathe life into each project.
